I shared the sideboard in my dining space the other day
and the new look for the wall above it.
Some of you have asked for a closer look of the sideboard
and maybe a few pictures without the white fading too ;)

So without further ado~
Hand-painted florals,
frenchy scrolls
moulded handles & roses
Ornate
shabby faded gilding
curves and scrolls
A bit too much for some, maybe...
but not me.
:)
The craigslist ad was for a bedroom set
I purchased everything but the bed frame
( I sooo regret that now, it had a few broken pieces
& I was not in love with it-
At the time, I was trying to only buy things I loved and would use...
I know...what was I thinking?!)
Don't beat me up...
I already do it enough to myself.

For the dresser,
2 mirrors,
2 nightstands
&
the armoire
$400
The woman I purchased them from had inherited them from her parents -
who purchased them sometime around the 1950's in San Francisco.

She had rooms full of gorgeous pieces...

I also purchased the dainty frenchy settee from her
that I blogged about a few months back.
All of the pieces are signed by an artist and I did find 'ITALY' marked on a couple of them.
From what I have been able to tell by researching they were imported from Italy
sometime around mid-century.
With some resin details but they are made out of solid wood.
It was created to be a dresser...
but I was thinking something else for this beautiful piece...

I told the lady I bought the pieces from that I was thinking of using the dresser
without the 2 mirrors ,
in my dining space
as a sideboard...

I think she might have thought I was a wee bit crazy
:)

Here's a bit of a sneak peek...
I'll share the other pieces soon!

:)
HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!
