Old forgotten statues and architectural pieces are
favorite finds of mine~
especially old romantic pieces like this one.

This statue is was a lamp in it's former life.
I found it in a thrift store several years ago
and I immediately fell in love with the
sweet romantic scene it portrayed.

When I found this it was painted a bold blue
Combined with it's large size, it was quite the piece in that bright blue!
I knew that could be fixed easily enough and
pictured it in a soft faded coat
of shabby paint.

I covered it in creamy white and then layered a sage green over it~
just brushing the green on rather than covering completely.

Love their little chubby feet and hands.

It is weathered, worn and chipping in places
but it doesn't bother me...
the crumbly details add so much charm and character.

Loving it on the table under the pergola!
Happy Monday Everyone!
