FEATHERED NEST FRIDAY

I just love little antique fireplaces.
They are just perfect to tuck into a tiny little bedroom
a wee spot in the kitchen
or even in your bathroom~ what an indulgence!

I found this dainty charmer last year on craigslist when I purchased a set of
    Swedish antique furniture for $200.
This old cast iron surround and mantel mirror were included
    and I absolutely love them.

Originally, they were painted a delft blue color that didn't really fit the colors in my house
so I knew that this little guy would get a little transformation before
it found a perfect spot in my home.

    I have been painting away...
but it's been such a crazy couple of weeks,
it's not quite share worthy yet.
But I'll share it in it's new home soon!

    Welcome to Feathered Nest Friday!

COMMON GROUND ~DESIGN CHALLENGE

My sweet friend Debra over at Common Ground is starting a feature on her blog that I wanted to tell you about.
    Design Challenge
A little while ago Debra asked for some suggestions for her living room and blog friends chimed in!
Well, it got her thinking... and she thought of starting a blog feature where you can send in photos of a decorating dilemma or any decorating questions or problems you may have and we out in blog land can offer advice or suggestions to help out.
    Such a fantastic idea!
Head on over to Common Ground and say hello to Debra and read all about it

See you tonight for Feathered Nest Friday! :)

PRETTY IN PINK TABLE

An old farmhouse table draped in shabby pink linen

Set with a petite stack of my grandmothers vintage china
    - perfectly pretty and meaningful-
& a birthday cake on a silver platter.

Lots of birthday wishes and hugs for a very special girl!
We celebrated my daughters birthday this year
a couple of times to accommodate different schedules
The kids always like to say they have a 'week-long celebration'
    :)
For Ansley's party ~party, she decided to invite just a couple of
her close friends over for a sleepover, cake and fun.

A pretty in pink table in the dining room for party food
and the outside table was draped in white tulle.

But instead of party pictures at the table
we had several giggly girls who were running around having fun
who didn't want to sit for pictures~
let alone cake and ice cream.
    :)
So I am sharing just a few pictures I took before the party
and my girl on her birthday.

She picked out a white cake with whipped frosting for her party (delicious! )
but I found these frosted gourmet cupcakes at the bakery.
Mint chocolate chip is her favorite and they were perfect
    for her real birthday sweets.

    Love this precious baby girl.
    :)

It's been crazy busy here lately and I am so behind on so many things!!
I apologize for not making my usual visits to everyone~ I will be stopping by shortly.
This Summer has been a bit crazy for sure and I cannot believe
that school is starting up again in just a few short weeks!
Where did the lazy days of Summer go already!?

Hope to see you tomorrow for Feathered Nest Friday!

PASSIONATE FOR INTERIORS

    A Passion For Interiors
    Carolyne Roehm

(all images from A Passion for Interiors)

This beautiful book is filled with passionately decorated rooms.
    Elegant. Refined.
    Polished & dressed perfectly.

Page after page of beautifully decorated spaces.

My daughter and I were shopping the small local bookstore for a book for her
when we walked past the one half wall of interior design books they had.
Of course I stopped to browse.
    :)
Red being my favorite color, the jacket of this book stood out immediately.
Just look at that gorgeous bold red with the pristine glossy white~ beautiful.

I picked it up and thumbed through & was in love with
page after page of beautiful rooms.

Carolyne Roehm's rooms are decorated with a style and flair similar
    to a well-dressed woman.
Her rooms are elegant, luxurious and pulled together
    but comfortable and welcoming.
After all~ she worked with Oscar De La Renta...
so you know the girl has some style!

This book is definitely a wonderful book to look to for classic inspiration for your spaces.
Her home is grand and her furnishings and spaces very well appointed (and expensive)
but her designs are a great inspirations.

If you are looking for elegant, traditional, beautiful spaces
decorated with passion to inspire you
    this is a must have.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I have been feeling kind of yucky the past several days
but am starting to get some pep back &
worked a little on painting those french doors yesterday.
Hoping to get that finished up and shared soon!

    Happy Monday Everyone!
